Immersive Indulgence

Nestled within the luxurious METT Marbella - Estepona, poised elegantly between Marbella and Estepona, lies Isola Ristorante Italiano, a place where the charm of southern Italy meets the laid-back luxury of the Costa del Sol. The resort itself feels like a Mediterranean dream with a touch of Dubai-style glamour, and Isola fits perfectly into that world. Romantic lighting, lush greenery, and a terrace that invites long, lingering evenings create an atmosphere that’s as elegant as it is relaxed.

Executive Chef Giannis Toman, with over fifteen years of Mediterranean culinary expertise, has shaped a menu that champions warmth, authenticity, and quality.

Homemade pasta is a point of pride here, and the extensive wine list reads like a love letter to Italy.

Everything about the restaurant quietly insists that you slow down and savour the experience.

Our evening began with a Carpaccio di Barbabietola, thin slices of beetroot paired with sweet peach, roasted pine nuts, and a glossy balsamic dressing. It was light yet full of contrast: earthy and sweet, soft and crunchy. As a starter, it provided the perfect insight into what was to follow.

Ravioli di Ricotta e Spinaci, plump with creamy ricotta and perfectly wilted spinach, bathed in sage-infused butter and dusted with Parmigiano. These ravioli had all the hallmarks of being homemade, the texture delicate yet resilient, the flavour rich without feeling heavy.

For mains, we opted for the Polpo Grigliato, which duly arrived with a gentle char, accompanied by briny Taggiasche olives, a silky celeriac cream, and fragrant basil oil. Each element balanced the others perfectly: the tender octopus, the creaminess of the celeriac, the herbaceous lift from the basil.

The impressively named Costata di Manzo was our second main, a rib-eye steak served with peppery rocket and nutty Grana Padano. Succulent, well-seasoned, and indulgent without overcomplication, it was a prime example of letting a quality cut of meat speak for itself.

Dessert was nothing short of theatre.

The Torta al Formaggio, a pistachio cheesecake served with vibrant pistachio ice cream, was a match made in heaven for anyone who loves this particular nutty flavour. Rich, creamy, and deeply aromatic, it lingered on the palate. But the true showstopper for us was the Tortino al Cioccolato, a warm chocolate fondant with a molten centre, served with hazelnut ice cream. The combination of rich, velvety chocolate and nutty, creamy ice cream was pure indulgence, a perfect finale to an already remarkable meal.

Dining at Isola feels like more than just a meal; it is a relaxed, luxurious immersion.

The décor, with its pistachio-hued accents, warm lighting, and refined wood and tile detailing, creates an intimate cocoon. The service is polished without being overbearing, striking that rare balance between attentiveness and letting you enjoy the evening uninterrupted.

Many reviews have praised Isola for its exceptional starters and flawless pasta, and it is easy to see why.

The combination of carefully chosen ingredients, precise execution, and an atmosphere that encourages you to take your time makes it a rare gem on the coast. Whether you’re staying at the METT or making the trip from Marbella or Estepona, it’s worth carving out an evening for. And if you do go, take our advice... save room for dessert.
