We sit down with David Vega, the visionary entrepreneur behind Marbella1, a premier agency specialising exclusively in luxury villas. With a background spanning tech startups and online marketing, David has carved a niche in Marbella's competitive real estate market by offering unparalleled access to high-end properties and delivering personalised, client-focused services.


David, tell us about your career path and how you started in Marbella's luxury real estate sector.

Over the past two decades, I've embarked on numerous projects and founded several tech startups. There came a point when I felt a strong desire to delve into the world of luxury real estate, which was entirely unfamiliar to me at the time.​

My extensive experience in online marketing allowed me to identify gaps where I could achieve visibility in Marbella's highly competitive market. After years of contemplation, in 2019, I decided to dedicate myself fully to this field, considering it since then as the "ultimate professional venture of my life."​

What inspired you to specialise in high-end properties, and how has your background influenced your career?

I was motivated by the potential to better monetise my time and acquired knowledge in an idyllic place like Marbella, aiming for an even better lifestyle for myself and my son, who is currently 10 years old. I hail from Sitges (Barcelona)

I've always been passionate about quality and well-executed work, and I feel a connection with luxury villas. I admire the great effort, talent, and attention to detail that captivate in many of them.​

My technical background, experience in leading small businesses, and my "no limits" attitude made it possible.​

Marbella is full of real estate agents; what sets your services and approach apart from others in the sector?

There are many differences; it's part of my DNA to do things differently and innovate. Here are two main ones:​

  1. I exclusively specialise in selling luxury villas in Marbella (ranging from €2M to the €70M that the highest-priced one costs today). I don't sell everything like the rest.​

  2. I provide my clients access to 100% of the villas for sale in Marbella on the market. Other agencies, no matter how large, do not consider all of them by any means. I conduct a thorough daily follow-up to monitor all that the sector offers, so my clients don't need to spend their precious and scarce time working with many other agencies in parallel. A single contact for everything.​

How would you describe your personal and professional style when working with clients seeking luxury and exclusivity?

Speed, availability, proactivity, honesty, sincerity, confidentiality.​

What have been the biggest challenges in your career, and how have you overcome them?

Starting from scratch without external financing, remotely, without contacts. Accustomed to working hard, this has been the most challenging path of my life. I've achieved what I set out to do by staying highly focused without distractions, being consistent over the years, adapting, and having strong determination: giving up was not an option.

What current trends do you observe in Marbella's luxury real estate market, and how do you adapt to them?

The upward trend in prices continues; it's been that way since I've been in the business.​

There's a complete saturation of agents/agencies in the market, but since most of them replicate each other, it doesn't worry me too much. My attitude remains to provide maximum value in a differentiated way

What are your future plans and goals in the luxury real estate sector? Are there any projects or initiatives you're currently working on?

Continuing to consolidate my reference channels in Marbella: YouTube and Instagram. This 2025, I will also be very visible on another channel that I don't want to reveal yet :-) I can also mention that I will increasingly provide more valuable information on my website, unique data that no one else is offering.​
