Sundays are for sharing at La Sala

The biggest dilemma facing lovers of the classic traditional Sunday roast is always what to choose … not anymore!  Team La Sala now offer a positively genius sharing platter.  Whether you are an intimate party of 4, a family of 8, or possibly planning your Xmas parties for staff and fancy a grandiose platter for 18 people, they have you covered.

Roast Sirloin of Beef, succulent Chicken, Shanks of Spanish lamb and plump Pork with a slab of crackling, are all served with their usual condiments of horseradish sauce, crushed cranberry’s, mint and apple sauce. This new offering really is locally sourced and delightfully sauced.

If that’s making your mouth water, throw in some duck fat potatoes, plump homemade Yorkshire puddings, buttered greens, individual pots of creamy cauliflower cheese, crispy parsnips, and sausage meat stuffing, all ready to coat with a bottomless gravy boat. Oh, and pigs in blankets are not just for Christmas, at La Sala there are scores of them dotted all along the platter protecting the feast within.

On our visit, over half of the packed terrace were happily indulging in this latest innovative concept. Imagine sitting outside in the now famous La Sala Ski Lodge during December, surrounded by festive décor with Christmas tunes and a platter full of your favourite goodies.

This veritable feast is proceeded by a selection of mouth-watering starters including, mushrooms in a creamy tarragon sauce atop toasted ciabatta with melted cheese and a dash of Worcester sauce, a silky smooth chicken liver pate, accompanied by a caramelised apple compote and time honoured tangy Prawn cocktails.

If you have left any space and possibly possess a sweet tooth, there is also a tantalising assortment of homemade desserts on offer.  Choose from sticky toffee pudding, fruit crumble and custard, crème brulee with mixed berry compote and shortbread and our particular favourite, a gin and tonic jelly served with gazed cherries, juniper berry syrup with a refreshing lime and basil sorbet.  Once you add on a welcome glass of Champagne and an afternoon of live music, it’s easy to understand the necessity of pre booking! Our sunny November Sunday on La Sala’s now famous terrace was one very well spent.

So, what are you waiting for? Come together with those who matter most and enjoy the best roast on the coast … all served up on a platter.
