This month we’re taking a look at the best pool clubs in the area, where sun, music and amazing food come together for an unforgettable experience. Whether you want a relaxing day, a pool party that will have you dancing until the sun sets, or to taste some of the best food Spain has to offer, you won’t be disappointed with one of these.
Max Beach
A little further along the coast, towards Mijas, you’ll find Max Beach. People travel from all over the Costa del Sol to come to this well-known spot, especially for its daytime pool parties on Fridays and Saturdays. With a DJ on the decks from 2pm and cocktails flowing, it’s a true slice of the Marbella lifestyle. On all other days of the week, the pool is open from 11am to 8:30pm, so if you’d rather a more relaxing affair, grab yourself a daybed and some delicious food from the pool menu (the sushi is always a good idea) and soak up the atmosphere.

Mogli Marbella
Newly opened MOGLI provides the perfect escape from the busy Marbella town. Nestled away in the hillside it’s a little slice of paradise with a pool for dipping, beds for lounging and exciting gastronomy that will surprise and delight. Think ceviche, octopus with chimichurri and sour paprika parmentier, and red tuna belly with truffle. There’s a bit of Bali vibe going on with the towering palm trees and thatched roof - but that can only be a good thing. It’s something a little different from the usual beachfront club and it’s highly likely it will become your new favourite spot. Book ahead, we expect this one to get busy.
Oh, and if you get lost - just look for the huge koala bear.

Boho Club
There’s no pool bar quite like the Boho Club, because this one’s claimed by Bernie. And Bernie doesn’t mess around when it comes to food. Often, pool bar menus are a little basic but this one (although small) features only the best dishes. Try the salmon tartar with kimchi, sesame and yuzu to start, followed by the prawn and tomato pesto linguine or boho burger with truffle, and enjoy the sumptuous flavours while admiring the mountain of La Concha. The fine dining experience continues in the main restaurant, where head chef Diego’s talent really shines. If you’re visiting on the weekend, stick around for the party at Bernies - the pool may be closed for swimming but the live music plays on late into the night.

Amàre Beach
In the heart of Marbella lies Amàre Beach. Sitting right on the water’s edge, with views across the sea, it’s the perfect place for sundowners while listening to some live music. If you’re staying in the hotel itself (which is for adults only), you can enjoy the pool and spa facilities. If not, grab one of the sun loungers by the ocean and make yourself comfortable; order a cocktail from one of the waiters and relax - beach days just got 100% better.

If you like live music (we’re talking saxophones and all), good food, great cocktails, and of course a beachside pool, La Sala by the Sea is your next destination. Found on the shore of the most popular beach in Puerto Banús, expect a good mix of dancing, relaxing and laughing. The beat picks up on Saturdays with the Le Bleu Pool Party brought to you by CÎROC, or if you like to start the week with a bang, Monday’s Nero Vodka Pool Parties will certainly get you going. La Cabane
Part of the Los Monteros hotel, La Cabane is an exclusive beach club that the whole family can enjoy. There’s a huge pool, easy beats (i.e not Ocean Spray vibes), and a range of different beds. Treat yourself with the VIP package or enjoy an oceanfront cabin for two, grab a glass of champagne and relax. Guests will be given their own towels for the day, and service will always feel personal thanks to the hands on staff - La Cabane really is a slice of luxury, with the little things making a real difference.
